Background: The University of Westminster is one of the most
centrally-located universities in London, and three of its four campuses are in
the heart of London’s theater, shopping and entertainment district. About
23,000 students – including around 5,000 international students – call the
university home.
History: The University of Westminster was founded in 1838 as
the world’s first polytechnic, and has always been closely involved in the
business, professional and academic life of London. It has evolved to
offer degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level on four different
campuses, and students can take courses in Architecture, the Arts, Biosciences,
Business, Computer Science, Design, Literature and Languages, Law, Media and
Communication, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
Accreditation: Degrees earned at the University of Westminster
are recognized by the UK Department for Education and Skills. The Quality
Assurance Agency (QAA) is an independent body that has responsibility for
assessing the quality of Higher Education in the UK and it performs regular
subject reviews to ensure that education at each recognized body is of an
acceptable standard.
Accommodation: Students will be housed in single rooms, and
will have access to kitchen facilities.
