Privacy Statement
|
Supported International Immersion Programs (SIIP) uses the internet to solicit
business, and to allow people the opportunity to order study abroad programs
and other products online. Information shared voluntarily online is protected
in accordance with Federal and State laws and the policies detailed below.
This policy is effective February 19, 2007 and may be changed at any time by
SIIP. If this policy is changed, the new policy will be posted online and the
effective date will be changed.
Consent
By using SIIP’s site, you consent to the terms stated in this policy.
What information does SIIP collect?
SIIP collects information online and through other forms of communication such
as fax, telephone and mail. SIIP collects the following and other information,
which collectively are described hereafter as “information collected”:
1. Information about students who wish to study abroad, including full name,
date of birth, citizenship and passport information, address, email address,
and telephone number.
2. Information about students’ emergency contacts, including full name,
address, email address and telephone numbers.
3. Information about students’ academic history, including overall GPA, class
level and the institution they are attending.
4 Information about students’ disciplinary records (including punishments for
violating the law), emotional problems, drug or alcohol addiction and health
conditions.
5. Students’ social security numbers.
6. Information provided by mail, fax or phone which includes, but is not
limited to, copies of diplomas, transcripts and other academic records.
Mailings using information collected
If you give us your information online, we may call you, email you or write to
you given the contact method(s) you provided. We may give you information on
programs other than the one to which you applied or are thinking of applying
to. To opt out of such mailings, you should email admin@siip.com or send us a
letter at:

Cookies and Similar Files
We never use cookies or similar files to track your use of other web sites. We
place cookies on your hard drive for security purposes and to facilitate site
navigation. Our cookies do not identify you as an individual.
If you do not accept cookies or similar file, your on-line activity will be
disrupted and it will be impossible for you to order products on-line.
Information security
Information is collected from users on a secure site. SIIP’s database is
password protected and all employees who are given access are trained on proper
use of the database. Only SIIP employees and representatives are permitted to
access the data.
What information does SIIP not collect?
SIIP does not keep your credit card information on file unless you submit it by
mail or telephone.
Will SIIP share information it collects?
Information collected is collected for the purpose of helping a student to
apply to universities overseas.
SIIP will release information collected to a third party only in the following
circumstances:
1. We may release all information about a student to our partner university
that they wish to attend, and to our representatives overseas.
2. We will comply with a lawfully issued subpoena or judicial order; we may
also disclose information if we have reason to believe that this release is
necessary to comply with the law.
3. When you travel, we will provide information about you to airlines, hotels,
restaurants and private accommodations overseas as we feel necessary.
4. We may release your name and billing address to CybersourceTM,
who will securely accept any credit card payments.
5. We may provide information about successful transactions to third parties,
to enable them to gauge the effectiveness of our advertising.
Marketing to children under 13
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act protects children under the age of
13 from the online collection of personal information. We do not knowingly
market to or solicit information from children under 13. The minimum age to
attend a SIIP program is 18.
Linking to other sites
We may provide links to other websites, including but not limited to
CybersourceTM and BoldChatTM.
We are not responsible for the privacy or security of these sites, including
the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of their information. If you are
asked to provide information to another site, you should read their privacy
policy before consenting.
Adware
If advertisements “pop up” on your screen while you are visiting our site, your
computer may have been infected with adware. SIIP does not use adware, but does
use pop ups to display terms and conditions of service.
