Dear Parents/Guardians,
SIIP – pronounced “sip” – is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of
your son or daughter. We do not expect our students to have traveled
alone overseas before, and so we have the resources in place to help them to
adapt.
Good planning is crucial from the outset. Students are guided as they
seek permission to transfer courses back to their home institutions even before
they leave to go abroad. I have worked at four regionally accredited
universities in the US, and has visited each of our partner institutions
personally to make sure living arrangements and academic standards are of the
level one would expect in a US regionally accredited institution.
When your son or daughter arrives overseas, they’ll attend
orientation, which will help them to learn about the destination country.
We’ll lend them a cell phone, and make sure they have sheets for their room in
their residence hall.
SIIP will maintain close contact with your son or
daughter. SIIP’s representatives overseas will call them regularly to
make sure they’re OK – and since your son or daughter will have a cell phone,
you will be able to call them too. During full semester programs, we hold
two social events per semester, and three SIIP Cultural Tours, which include at
least one trip to a third country. During programs which last less than eight
weeks, we offer one SIIP Cultural Tour.
Finally, you’ll notice that our programs represent excellent
value for money. Even our most expensive programs compare favorably with
the average cost of attending a private university in the United States.
SIIP offers a number of scholarships, and we will help US students to apply for
financial aid through their home university.
Sincerely,

CEO, SIIP
